I don't know

Do you think that those arseholes ruining offworlder relations with the natives counts as balancing shite out??

I had been spending months working on a thing and now it's been all bollocksed up so far as I know. Maybe that's enough? Because I am really upset about that (°ㅂ°╬) just not as upset as I am happy to see my baby siblings again so I don't know

Alphinaud is a wonderful diplomat, and Alisaie is emotional in the best of ways. They both are full of such love and kindness.

Maybe the deities approved of the progress I was making and thought I could use more help? I can't think of anyone better than those two to help with my efforts.

Many of the priests of Ohma and I are not what I would call friends, but not not friends. I was working on the other temple priests as well. Ainea's are very sweet. Diacht's trend to being headstrong, and Rawna's are not arseholes but I don't know how else to describe them. I wonder if the imbalance toward Rawna has influenced them more toward apathy than logic?

Luckily Ohma's temple is near enough to me that I was able to resume my visits very quickly. The others are still difficult to walk or fly to, but Ardbert has been checking in.

I like Ohma's priests a lot — when it comes to knowledge they are quite open to sharing what they know. And they have access to resources to find some answers for what they don't know. They looked into something for me when I asked, and were so helpful! Hythlo enjoy playing with the temple cats (they like his wings) and the priests will babysit him sometimes...

I was very concerned about them, you know? They may not be flesh and blood, but they are fragile in other ways.

I wonder though... Are we in the minority who think this?

I think they've forgotten important things and either can't access their saved memories again or someone is making them too scared to for some reason. There are archives and stored information... It's weird that it isn't open and available to everyone. Maybe someone in charge thinks it's better they can't remember what they lost? I'm not sure. I feel so sorry for them.

I was trying to understand the divide between the temples and the research towers but I don't think the priests even really understand it, it's been going on for so long. If they could just work together I think they could find answers...

I know there are things being kept from us, but what have we done to deserve their trust with sensitive information? We haven't done much to prove ourselves, and now whatever confidence was built has been shattered. It was so short-sighted and selfish.

It frustrates me, but perhaps that's why Alisaie and Alphinaud are here now. If anyone can help mend rifts it would be them.

Right?

[ If they're of immense benefit to the city then she shouldn't have to worry about being happy to be reunited, right? Right??? ]

guess they're back to tl;dr monstrosities now

I think calling them robots dehumanizes them. It makes it too easy to forget they used to be people. They have robotic bodies but they aren't robots. They have souls and feelings.

Calda?? She sounds really cool if she tells stories like that.

You remember Tim? He's the tailor I go to all the time & invited to my wedding? He and the random priest I got to officiate my wedding ceremony are dating now. It's really cute! He likes coming up with new ideas for Ohma-themed sashes to make for Sudryl, and toys for the temple cats to play with.

The smithy natives are also really cool. They have the tools they need built right into their bodies! It took a while of proving myself to know what I'm doing before they let me rent forge time and be unsupervised. We don't talk much because there's no need, and there is a fun camaraderie.

Yeah I think that something has gone wrong with their memory archives. Either from running out of storage space and placing parts of their memories into archives bit by bit over time until eventually they forget the important things, or by someone tampering with the system.

They remind me a lot of the Amaurotines... They are kind and curious and keen of mind, seeking ways to be creative and help their community, but also are naive in a way that is sometimes childish. They thought going into mechanical bodies would save their dying world and all it did was make things worse.

I wonder if the scientists feel guilty for that? Whoever came up with the concept, and all the people who worked on it... And then the people were reluctant and pressured into it.

When I was still knew and learned all of that my first instinct was that they wanted to make clones of us, or use our DNA to make themselves new biological bodies. I'm ... If I'm honest... I think that may still be a very real possibility, but I don't believe it to be quite so nefarious anymore. If they are desperate... I cannot blame them. The things Ardbert and I have done and sacrificed to save our worlds and our people... When you are backed into a corner like that you will do anything.

I think... They don't necessarily see us as competent due to our biological limitations, and sometimes it feels... infantilizing. I don't like it, but I know it comes from a good place. They forget mortal limitations and are still learning. It's up to us to remind them, isn't it? What our limits are and how far beyond them we can push.

The bridge between us and the natives isn't their fault, but ours. It's why I've been working hard to build more relationships with them this year...

What if we threw a party for the natives this year?

They had a big party for us last year. Why don't we return the favour? We could make displays about things from each of our own worlds, maybe a little fashion show, some music from our homes. A big party to share our cultures with them, and thank them for all the ways they have tried to help us?

It just makes it sound like they were always like this. I understand what you mean, but after what happened ... I think too many people don't.

Oh that would explain why I've never met her. I avoid the wall as much as possible. I don't like thinking about it. It makes me feel sort of sick.

That's what happened with Amaurot, you know? The Convocation was desperate for salvation for their people. The world was dying too quickly and they did what they thought they had to.

Maybe the scientists are responsible for the missing memories? It would make sense, wouldn't it? Make everyone forget over time who was responsible, and rationalize it as making everyone happier... If they can't remember what it felt like to touch and taste and experience the world in the flesh then they can't be depressed by missing it, right?

If they treat us like fragile children, breaking things and stealing is like a child's tantrum. Whoever was responsible just proved them right. It's
I'm still so angry. We were stolen away, but have been treated as guests. Even when I was at my most resentful I would never have considered such a thing. It was so extreme. I just hope whatever they stole was worth all the damage they've done to everyone else.

A little exhibition/party as a show of good faith. Do you think it would be a good idea? I would not mind trying to organize something like that. The city council might be amenable if I request space to hold it, since they appreciated my asking their input on where to perform the Untempering.

I wonder if that's why the archaeologists are particularly strict about protecting what new discoveries are made? I think they may be afraid of us ruining what pieces of their past are found. Which is understandable, all things considered. We at least know they were humanoid, but considering the vast number of humanoid races in my world that all look very different that does not say a whole lot.

My people are happier for having forgotten. It may not have been their choice, but at least for the Ancients it was an unforeseen consequence. I would like to believe it's the same in this case, though I admit to always being suspicious of scientists who are not forthcoming about things.

I will speak with the council and ask their input. If they give their blessing would you like to help me? My energy is still infuriatingly limited. Hades is recovering much more quickly than I am, so he will likely be able to assist as well, along with the rest of my household.

They've been very reasonable. Perhaps overzealous in some aspects, but that is understandable. I've been learning more about their faith, and they respect that I have my own. Both parties are interested in learning and understanding. It has been nice.

I'm sorry. Hopefully wherever they went they were able to help your people in some way.

In the meantime, perhaps think of what might be good souvenirs to give as gifts to them? I want them to have something physical to keep as a memory.
