Rapiers are definitely more delicate speed. Generally I prefer heavy hitting blades if I'm not using my magic, but red magic is a wonderful amalgamation of magic and bladework. Rapiers are built for quick slices and thrusts, focusing on taking advantage of any weak points in armour — namely chainmail and where plate armour overlaps for mobility. A properly aimed stab to the underarm can fell a man in full plate armour, which is not nearly as cathartic as whacking them with a blade as large as myself is still very satisfying.

So your armiger is more akin to my inventory whereas the royal arms are akin to bloodline magic, and the armiger doesn't need the royal arms, but the royal arms need the armiger? And if you've 113 ancestors, are there 113 weapons to choose from?

That makes sense, I suppose. Or as much sense as anything does with Ardyn's peculiar circumstances. Though he did die and is, technically, still dead... As are a majority of the people I've been closest to in this world, now that I think of it.

Oh, I didn't mean sparring against it. If you happen to spar against a friend, a Carbuncle unexpectedly body slamming them may make for an enjoyable change of pace and a brilliant opening. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

is torture just a thing in empires?? I saw some rly effed up shit in gralea when we were doing a rescue. unless the citadel has some secret basement no one told me abt. god i gotta ask dad and cor now… dont want that in my lucis

i get the feeling iggy would be good at rapiers. pinpointing weaknesses and getting in and out rly quick is his whole thing. i can only keep up with him bc i can warp and phase

yeah thats pretty spot on 4 armiger and arms. technically it's all bloodline magic but we can give ppl access to armiger and not arms… it's kinda messy but it works 4 us. most of the royal arms have been lost or destroyed but ya theres been 1 per king. 13 is all we could find in the months we were able to go looking

maybe it has 2 be both together, dead + royal, and it cant be half-assed? hell for all i know rakshasa could b a royal arm and we just dont know it. i wouldnt want to try tho, that could take it away from ardyn and no one would like that

im not offended or anything. in part ur not wrong, it isnt super ideal. but i get a lot of power with or without the arms, like from the crystal and the covenants… the arms are more like special attacks than every day use. anyway theyre better than the ring. at least w/ the arms potions can undo the damage, meanwhile the ring is like nah just age fast and die young & u cant do anything about it and also ur veins are on fire now die mad about it
