If you have a girls night with Prompto and need wine lmk. I don't drink it often and have a good stockpile now.🍷🍷🍷

Yes, I think your guess is close to the truth of things. While our infections were similar... I survived because I was not alone. He did not have that same privilege. I believe that lessens the worth of anything I may have to say.

When I use Fleche the aetherial blades are of a near identical shade of blue. It's an attack that needs a handful of minutes between uses because it's so draining, and that is only six blades controlled in tandem rather than individually.

What is it with the number fourteen??? Are you the 114th of your bloodline too?

I'd bet my tail Somnus didn't give himself that title. He didn't regard himself that highly. Yet another thing those two dumb brothers had in common. The idiots.

For Yaksha's name to have been 'lost' was just another way Ardyn was erased from history, purposeful or not. I cannot blame him for being unimpressed...

I wonder if Yaksha is happy to have its name returned after so long?

The royal arms are so weird, but cool. Would I be able to try wielding the physical Yaksha one day? I would love to see how it compares to its twin.

Hades enjoyed wine a great deal. He would Create different kinds for me to try with him, both with and without the taste of various poisons. I liked the sweet fruit wines best, so that is the kind I make. I'm glad you like it, too!ヽ(∀° )人( °∀)ノ

I suppose I worry at times that he may resent me. What did I do to deserve the salvation he was denied? I know it's just me being a dumbass though.

Fleche is an ability used by red mages. Six large blue swords of aether materialize above me in a fan shape, then launch themselves at a single point.

The Convocation of Fourteen failed to save their world. It was then fragmented into fourteen pieces 14,000 years ago.

I held the fourteenth seat in the Convocation, and am now the appointed guardian of what remains.

It's such an arbitrary number and yet it's everywhere I look lol (ಠ__ಠ)

I actually once helped make a sword that could talk. Or rather a sword and a variety of other weapons that could contain a pseudo-soul I forged with my aether. His name is Anima. He is very sweet, and loves protecting me. Gerolt and Ardashir helped fashion him a cute little mammet to inhabit so he can explore things properly all his own now. 💖

But for normal weaponry — swords especially — you can tell by the song they sing when you've wielded them oft enough. With a good spirit bond you've a happy blade. ☺️⚔️

Even in physical form it's moody? I wonder if Yaksha would let me use it for a few minutes if I ask politely and explain my request. Admittedly my desire is purely selfish, so even aside from the royal possessiveness it wouldn't surprise me if it got pissy.

Yes and no. I was more concerned with being drugged and left vulnerable than being killed. The Echo can warn me of impending death, but it cannot warn me of kidnapping and torture. If such a thing were to happen the Eorzean Alliance would be severely compromised.

Not hatred — resentment. You can love someone wholeheartedly and still feel the burn of resentment at times.

Red mages use rapiers with a focus orb that can be attached to the hilt, turning it temporarily into a staff. We maintain a balance between black and white magicks, and the rapier we channel our spells through becomes charged with residual magic, allowing us to assault our targets with a flurry of empowered melee attacks. It's very fun. Flashy, and a little acrobatic.

It wasn't the sword itself that spoke, but a... spirit? When he came out of my weapon his form was akin to an elemental; a faerie-like creature with no discernible features for how brightly he glowed. He liked it best inside my grimoire, as he is fond of Carbuncle. I should carve a replica of his traveling form. I haven't thought of him in an age, but I miss him.

Sometimes the way my weapons feel sounds like music, but the way I experience sound is different than people who have ears. Hades once compared it to how you sound to yourself when you speak vs. how you sound when you hear a recording of yourself.

My worlds have a concept known as 'spirit bonding'. The more you use weaponry or wear an item, the more your soul's aether will imprint upon it. An item with a high spirit bond will only reach its full potential when used by the one its bound to.

I believe I understand what you're trying to say, but am a bit confused. Is Rakshasa not part of Ardyn's armiger? When I used it it was just like any other sword.

And while you wouldn't have the connection I do with my Carbuncle, if you wish to borrow it one day for a spar you're welcome to ask! I can request it obey your commands for a time. And if something happens where you're in need of help, if Carbuncle is there and I am elsewhere, you can give it commands and it should aid you without question. It can be aloof at times, but it exists to safeguard myself and others. You and your family will always be a high priority to it.

How do you fight if you're not supposed to use your weaponry?

Being tortured would suck but the Scions and I worked so hard to reunite the Alliance. If the Empire caught me I'd undoubtedly be experimented on and used as political leverage, which would create a major shitestorm even with Garlemald in such disarray. (」°ロ°)」

At least I can take comfort in the knowledge that I'm not the biggest dumbass I know.

Rapiers are definitely more delicate speed. Generally I prefer heavy hitting blades if I'm not using my magic, but red magic is a wonderful amalgamation of magic and bladework. Rapiers are built for quick slices and thrusts, focusing on taking advantage of any weak points in armour — namely chainmail and where plate armour overlaps for mobility. A properly aimed stab to the underarm can fell a man in full plate armour, which is not nearly as cathartic as whacking them with a blade as large as myself is still very satisfying.

So your armiger is more akin to my inventory whereas the royal arms are akin to bloodline magic, and the armiger doesn't need the royal arms, but the royal arms need the armiger? And if you've 113 ancestors, are there 113 weapons to choose from?

That makes sense, I suppose. Or as much sense as anything does with Ardyn's peculiar circumstances. Though he did die and is, technically, still dead... As are a majority of the people I've been closest to in this world, now that I think of it.

Oh, I didn't mean sparring against it. If you happen to spar against a friend, a Carbuncle unexpectedly body slamming them may make for an enjoyable change of pace and a brilliant opening. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

I hope you don't take too much offense to this, Noct, but your ancestral arms are kind of shite. 'Here, have this incredibly useful and amazingly cool skill! Oh and by the way it fuels itself by eating your lifespan!' Whichever deity signed off on that one needs to be fired.
